About Us
Welcome to the Mother & Child Website and
please allow me to introduce, Kathleen Todd-Seymour,
the founder and director of Mother & Child Postpartum
Care.
Kathleen has spent more than the last twenty-five
years nurturing and supporting families in the Boston and Metro-West
area. In her role as a Pediatric Registered
Nurse, Kathleen would assist families as they were discharged
from the local Neonatal Intensive Care Unit’s and transition
home with their medically fragile newborns. Kathleen remains
an active pediatric RN for the MA Health Pediatric Program.
In 2002, Kathleen established Mother & Child, LLC for
the private in-home support of new families during their pregnancy
and postpartum period. In order to offer the most professional
care Kathleen has worked to expand her newborn specialty. After
completing her studies with CAPPA, she became a practicing Certified
Childbirth Educator offering group and private childbirth
classes. Kathleen has also completed the studies and 2500
hours of caring for breastfeeding mothers in order to become an Internationally
Board Certified Lactation Consultant available for private
consults and teaching classes. She remains affiliated
with The Happiest Baby on the Block Organization,
teaching families the secrets to calming their newborns. Kathleen
continues to have the pleasure of working with Isis Maternity of
Needham, where she has been a Great Beginnings New Moms Group facilitator
for the past several years. She also teaches weekly at Visitation
House of Worcester, a shelter for women in crisis pregnancies.
Kathleen has worked with the CAPPA organization as the MA
Lactation Educator Trainer, the BACE organization as a Nursing
Mother’s Councilor for phone triage, and
the American Heart Association as an Infant and Child CPR
Instructor. Kathleen stays current in all of her
areas of practice, with up-to-date research, professional conferences
and continuous hands-on caring of newborns. Fine tuning their feeding
and sleep schedules as families transition thru their “fourth
trimester”.
Kathleen is the proud mother of three teen children
that she is raising with her husband in the Northboro community.
Here in Northboro and the surrounding towns, she actively participates
in community service with her children by her side.
