The care of mother and child in the privacy of their home

A Time of Transition

You are about to transition from expectant mother to proud parent ! This is a wonderful and exciting time for any family. It is also a stressful, tiring and confusing time. There are many new experiences for the first time parent and many time constraints for families with other children.

A postpartum assistant will provide in-home practical, educational and emotional support to postpartum families. She will take the time to listen, assist you in finding solutions for your particular situation, and provide the follow-through necessary to ensure your success as a parent.

It is very comforting to have a trained assistant in your home to offer support with your choice of feeding. It can be very intimidating the first time that your baby needs bathing, umbilical cord care or extra swaddling and comforting. It doesn't have to be! With an experienced postpartum assistant, you will quickly become comfortable with caring for your newborn.

By planning ahead you will be able to meet with your postpartum assistant and prepare a care plan that is most beneficial to you and your family! Maybe you just need some well deserved rest. A postpartum assistant would be most helpful to you by caring for the baby during the night.
